The Basics
The lodge park is located on 44 acres of protected woodland within Otterburn Hall Estate, 1 mile from the centre of Otterburn, a small historic Northumberland Village just off the A68 to Jedburgh.
In the village you will find two very popular wedding venues, so just perfect for making a relaxing weekend of the occasion. The village store which caters for last minute provisions with a decent off-licence offering both hot and cold food.
On site is a Hotel/Bar/Restaurant, The Coach House (check opening times), offering delicious meals.
For more provisions Bellingham is 9 miles away with a few cafes and couple of pubs, butcher, bakery and large supermarket.

You can explore 5 walking and 7 cycling trails within the 250 square miles of the site and kids can try spot the many curious contemporary art sculptures which are hidden amongst the trees. Kielder is also home to lots of wildlife, including red squirrels, otters and ospreys.

At 580 square miles Northumberland International Dark Sky Park - is the largest area of protected night sky in Europe. Within this astronomical oasis is Kielder Observatory, a public star-gazing facility like no other in the UK. ​
Run by a team of passionate scientists and presenters, the observatory exists to share the magic of the night sky with everyone old or young, experienced astronomer or curious beginner. Their desire to let people experience a truly dark sky, and inspire a deeper sense of wonder because of it, makes Kielder Observatory a remarkable place, not just for Northumberland, but for planet earth.

Northumberland has some of the most spectacular unspoiled coastline in the UK with just under 40 miles of stunning coastline to explore.  
Many of its coastal spots are lesser-known than other places across the UK, meaning often it’s very quiet and you may even get to enjoy some of the scenery all to yourself.
 
From castles to nature reserves, great places to eat, a variety of attractions and sights to see there's a wealth of places to go and things to do all along the. Northumberland has a number of charming towns and villages, each with something different to offer - head to historic Alnmouth, explore beautiful Bamburgh or wander the cobbled streets of Seahouses on your adventures to this remote and extraordinary corner of the UK.

Scottish Border
Distance from Lodge: 15 Miles - 20 minutes 

Only a short drive from the Carter Bar Boarder which offers stunning views on clear days and has a large parking/lay by for stopping. 

Once over the boarder you have endless small towns, beautiful 'typically Scottish' scenery and food to explore. Alternatively you can venture further and spend a day in some of the big well known cities like Edinburgh and visit the shops.

​Things to do in the area doesn't stop there.

There are endless walks available which you can start at Hadrian's Wall - which stretches 73 miles from coast to coast. Hadrian’s Wall was built to guard the wild north-west frontier of the Roman Empire and is now one of the most visited attractions in the country. 
You can stay local and get to know the Northumberland countryside and it's quaint towns and villages. For example there is Bellingham, Wark, award winning Corbridge or Hexham. 

If you're a fishing fanatic then head to Sweethope Lough near Bellingham or if you like horse riding then head to Redesdale.
